AI Implementation

Knowexactlywhichsystemtobuildnext.

A structured process for professional services firms that turns “we should be doing more with AI” into a specific project with a timeline and an owner.

The problem

Everyone's talking about AI. Most of it isn't helping you.

01

You’ve tried the tools. They didn’t stick.

ChatGPT, Zapier, maybe a few others. You played around, got distracted, went back to the old way. Not because AI doesn’t work. Because nobody showed you where it fits your actual business.

02

The advice is vague and the vendors are expensive.

“Embrace AI.” Great. Where do you start? Consultants want $5,000 for a strategy deck. Software companies want a year contract. Neither one builds anything for you.

03

You’re spending time on things a system should handle.

Follow-up emails, data entry, report generation, scheduling, customer questions. You know it could be automated. You just haven’t had the time to figure out how.

04

You don’t want to become a tech person.

You shouldn’t have to learn prompt engineering to get value from AI. You need someone to build the thing and hand it to you working.

Process

How it goes.

Three steps. Clear scope. You end up with something working, not a presentation.

01

We talk.

Book a free 30-minute call. No pitch, no proposal. I want to understand your business and where you’re stuck. If it’s a fit, I’ll tell you exactly how I can help. If it’s not, I’ll say so.

02

We build a plan.

We agree on a clear scope before any work starts. No surprises, no open-ended billing.

03

You get something working.

Every engagement ends with a working system, not a recommendation. I build, test, and hand off. Then I’m available for questions.

About

Who's behind this.

I'm Jacob Burress. I've spent the last several years building operational systems for real teams: workflow automations, reporting pipelines, and tooling that people actually use. Not AI, just solid systems thinking.

Earlier this year, a mid-size team needed one view across three systems that didn't talk to each other. The data was messy, the timelines were off, and nobody trusted the reports. Two weeks later they had a single source of truth their whole team uses daily.

That's the pattern. Real operational problems look different once you've built the non-AI version first. AI doesn't fix a broken process. It makes a broken process faster. The background matters.

I'm not a big agency. If you want someone to sit across from you and build something practical rather than pitch you a roadmap, that's what I do.

The Work

What they had

Three systems tracking the same work. None of them agreed. The engineering lead was spending hours each week building reports by hand, and nobody trusted the numbers anyway.

What we built

One operational view that pulled from all three sources automatically. No more manual reconciliation. The team lead opens it every morning. It replaced the spreadsheet, the weekly status meeting, and most of the arguments about who's working on what.

How long it took

Two weeks from first conversation to production.

Where it is now

Still the primary tool for the team's daily standups. No maintenance requests in months.
